Individual Therapy

Seeking help is the first step

Sometimes life feels overwhelming and impossible to cope with on your own. This can be due to a sudden event or a feeling that has been there for a long time.

Feelings can surprise us, as we sometimes like to think of ourselves as ‘copers’. It takes courage to seek help but is the first step towards making your life feel more manageable.

You may be feeling one or more of these:
  • Anxious or stressed.
  • Sad or depressed.
  • At a loss.
  • Frustrated with those around you without really knowing why.
  • You may be experiencing problems in your relationship with your partner, family, children or work colleagues.
  • Your relationship has ended.
  • You have moved countries or cities. You have had some big changes, or about to have, in your life. You are feeling anxious or overwhelmed by it.
  • Someone close to you has died.
  • Someone close to you has moved away.
  • Some major event has happened or is happening, you feel unsure how to cope.
  • You want to find a new way of coping with what is happening in your life.
  • You may have issues with behaviour choices or self image.
  • You may have addiction issues or other compulsive behaviour you want to address.

Confidentiality and zero judgment

In therapy you are not alone – you come to share with a neutral, supportive outsider something that you may not have been able to talk about with your family or circle of friends – with total confidentiality and without being judged.

We explore what is of concern to you and together try to find a way forward that helps you to find life less overwhelming. We may think about past patterns of behaviour and coping skills and work out if they are still helpful to you or whether you need a new way. I will be guiding, listening and helping you to make sense of things and explore your choices in moving forward.
